As stated, the on-going project has required more than 10 man/years of effort. An article based on the presentation will be published in the Winter (December) issue of Methods & Tools, so stay tuned for more detailed information ;o)

Hi
I am very much interested in "Refactoring of Large Software Systems". I want to know how much effort they took to refactor the application? Can it be expressed as percentage of original code effort or anything. I mean how to calculate effort required for such refactoring activity if only lines of code is known. At max type of functionality or departments it support may also be known.

Please let me know contact of those people who have done any such exercise.
Best Regards

Glad you liked my presentation on value objects. If someone wants to watch an earlier video of it, you can have a look at [http://www.parleys.com/display/PARLEYS/Home#title=Get%20Value%20Objects%20right%20for%20Domain%20Driven%20Design;slide=1;talk=8099] (from JavaPolis 2006), which introduces DDD and starts smoothly with value objects. Or you can check out
[http://www.viddler.com/explore/oredev/videos/41/] (from Öredev 2008), which resembles the Jazoon presentation more.
