I have attended recently a interesting conference by Sacha Labourey, the former CTO of JBoss, that presented his new start-up named Cloudbees that aims at providing a “frictionless” platform to develop and run Java (or more precisely JVM-based language) software in the cloud. This conferences provided interesting informations on the benefits and limitations of currently using the Cloud as a development and execution platform. I had the chance to be there and recommend you to check the “97 things every programmer should know” presentation by Kevin Henley.
